On Thursday, April 13, Geocachers will gather to celebrate the 11th annual Dönerstag. You can earn the first ever Dönerstag souvenir by attending a Geocaching Event on that day.
Dönerstag began in 2007 when German cachers met at kebab shops around the country all at the same time.
These special events are held each year on a Thursday. In German, this makes the name “Dönerstag” a pun: The German word for Thursday is “Donnerstag.” Kebab translates to “Döner.”
We will meet from 6:30pm until 7:00pm in the parking lot of a local eatery in Ocala, Fl to talk about and try to figure out "Where in the World is Signal The Frog?"! We will also talk about recent Geoadventures and share interesting stories and such. Even if you can only stop by for a short visit, please do so and by logging that you attended, you will meet the Groundspeak requirements for a special new souvenir.
After the meet and greet, some of us are going to go have some dinner nearby. You are welcome but not required to join us to eat, but we ask that if you are, please post the number of people in your party that will be dining so that we can make arrangements with the resturant.
Also, if you have any TB's/Trackables to share for discovery or that need to be moved along, please bring them as well.
