Popped-in-the-Pulpit Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

This geocache brings you to the grave of Reverend Jonas Bissey who (in 1851) was struck dead by lightning while preaching from the pulpit of this New London church.

Reverend Bissey's monument stands out among the gravestones. It's white and tall and . . . Umm . . . kinda lightning rod shaped. The original inscription on the monument tells how the Reverend was killed but is difficult to read. But don't worry . . . A newer, flush to the ground stone with a duplicate inscription allows you to easily read the story.

If you enjoy this cache, please make it a "FAVORITE" !

Cache location: 137 feet from the Reverend's monument at a bearing of N-68-E (Note: This references magnetic north)

Parking: Easy . . . The church lot on State Road

This is the second cache we've created highlighting points of interest in the New London area. Hopefully our next hide won't be another graveyard.

+ + + Congrats to TEAM JAYME for the FTF - Great job! + + +
