Geocache Description:

This small cache is a large(ish) pill bottle that, though located next to a creek, is not likely to be affected by any flood waters.

This cache is located in the Bessie Grover Memorial Park along Rock Brook in Montgomery Township. Parking is available at N 40 25.163 W 074 43.284. This is a great family cache offering a shaded playground and some great stream exploration opportunities.

Enjoy your visit to Rock Brook in the Sourland Mountains. Search the floodplain for animal tracks where silt has been deposited. Deer tracks are plenty abundant. Practice skipping stones for your next rock-skipping championship. Explore the Brook for a wide variety of creatures – when we hid this cache we found dace in the pools, green frogs at the water’s edge, and a large northern water snake. A red-eyed vireo was signing over the playground and titmice were active in the woods as well. Watch for birds drinking, bathing and feeding along the Brook.

Please bring a pencil – this is a small cache and rather than provide a small pencil, I chose to include an arrowhead, a “Bad Hair Day” button and a small penquin. There is some poison ivy right at the cache site but it is easy to avoid. Let me know if it ever needs any management.
