2017 Metro Parks GeoTrail - Homestead Traditional Geocache

Enjoy a short walk, play on one of the playgrounds, stop inside the Naturalist Office to view their live animals, or maybe even attend a free educational program while you’re here at Homestead Metro Park. The difficult part won’t be finding this hidden in plain sight cache, it will be avoiding notice from all the muggles! Dog Friendly. Educational Cache Info:

    Is that a frog or a toad? Chances are that if you find the animal in question in your flowerbed, then it’s most likely a toad. Toads are more land based than frogs are, and also tend to have drier, bumpier skin. In addition, toads don’t rely on long legged jumps to avoid danger like frogs do. Instead they depend on the enlarged poison glands on their backs which make them taste bad to predators.

To participate in the Metro Parks GeoTrail go to www.metroparks.net/geotrail-2017 to find complete instructions. Download and print the GeoTrail page and complete at least 15 GeoTrail caches. As you find the caches fill in the cache clues on the GeoTrail page. The first 100 teams to return their forms are eligible to receive a Metro Parks Geocoin. You will need all 20 clues to complete the puzzle and unlock the coordinates of the Bonus Puzzle Cache.Mark your calendar for the GeoTrail Celebration on October 13th.
