If you’ve never been winter camping before, this is the time to try it. There's plenty of parking and the trail is only 1 mile. It's mostly flat with some short hills and groomed for skiing. The campsite can be accessed by snowshoes or skis. If you'd rather be pampered, the Maine Huts and Trails' Flagstaff Hut is just 1 mile away! There's no charge for camping, click on the link to see the Hut prices and availability

Schedule:

• 8am Breakfast for the early risers.
• 10am Shelter Building: Build an igloo using Nanook of the North's method
• Noon Break for Lunch and Snacks
• 1pm Fire Building: Learn to start a fire using the friction bow method.
• 4pm Pot luck dinner for all. Bring your favorite campfire dinner or cook on your camp stove. If you have something particular in mind, bring it. Afterward, everyone gets desert and hot chocolate.

The campfire will be lit most of the time, but especially in the evening. There will be hot chocolate for all, all day.

And, of course, there are several Geocaches to find not far from the campsite!
