Calvin Coolidge, or “Silent Cal,” was not known for giving remarkable speeches or for entertaining guests at parties. Someone once said that every time he opened his mouth, a moth flew out. Once, a wealthy woman said to him “You must talk to me, Mr. Coolidge. I made a bet today that I could get more than two words out of you.” He responded, “you lose.”
