Geocache Description:

Virtual Rewards 2.0 - 2019/2020

This Virtual Cache is part of a limited release of Virtuals created between June 4, 2019 and June 4, 2020. Only 4,000 cache owners were given the opportunity to hide a Virtual Cache. Learn more about Virtual Rewards 2.0 on the Geocaching Blog.

The introduction:

La Coupée is the name of the causeway that joins ‘little’ Sark to ‘big’ Sark. It is approximately 80 metres high and 100 metres long (but only 3 metres wide). Before the railings were added in 1900 crossing La Coupée required nerves of steel - particularly in windy conditions. There are stories of local children, who in the 1800s, had to get down on their hands and knees to crawl along the narrow dirt track just to prevent themselves from being blown over the edge by the wind!

The task:

In order to claim this virtual cache I would like you to post a photograph of yourself on your hands and knees at the posted co-ordinates pretending to recreate this historical scene.

The small print:

You do not have to traverse the entire length of La Coupée on your hands and knees. You only need be on the ground for a few seconds while a companion (or a random stranger if you like) takes the photograph. You are not required to have your face in the picture and if you are particularly camera-shy, you may want to have your photographer stand behind you as you crawl away from them.
