Geocache Description:

This should be a quick grab I made it easy because of the proximity of local residents. I did obtain permission from the landowner were the cache was placed. He was very gracious. I did not want him to be annoyed by people wandering around in his front yard any more than necessary so use the hint!

This cache was placed to highlight a local historical landmark. It is Georgia's oldest jail. Aaron Burr was arrested in Alabama in February 1807 and was held in the jail in Warthen GA. overnight on his way back to Washington, to be tried for treason. The jail was built from hand hewn logs. It now sits in the front yards of local residents in the Warthen village Which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places
