UCLA has many secluded areas where you can sit and relax, but at various time through the day and through the week most of them have characteristics that would make any attempts at mediation futile. This particular sanctuary is blessed with backing up deliver trucks and constant construction traffic right around the corner. It still make a good place to sit and eat lunch.
Depending on how construction is going, you might have to go inside the building, and find your way top the sanctuary. This is perfect legal as long as its not too late. Its up to you to find the right entrance, and the correct floor. :D
I recommend doing this one on the weekend. As with most sanctuaries, reception is non existent. I was able to get on the roof and get a reading that is probably 20-30 feet away from the cache. The cache is not attached to the fountain, but it is _very_ close. Just 'take' a seat, and you will find it. It is a altoids strips tin.
Bring a pen! There is only a log sheet in the cache! If you want a nice view, take the South East elevator to the 9th floor, to the North West elevator to the 8th floor.
Parking is messed up. $7 to park at UCLA... or 8 minutes per quarter for most of the meters around campus. Some fellow cachers recommended parking at the Ralphs/BestBuy/DrugStore on Le Conte... and on your way back, stop in to one of them, buy something small, and get your parking validated. This parking lot is very close to Sanctuary #1, so its a good place to park.
Since parking is such a pain... if you want to get all the caches on campus, and want to absolutly make sure you find them all, send me a line, I can help you out in a few different ways (I can email hints, I'm on campus all the time, and I can probably get you a parking pass for the weekend)
