The Linnaean Herbarium

Carl Linnaeus, also known as, Carl von Linné, was a Swedish botanist, physician, and zoologist, who laid the foundations for the modern biological naming scheme of binomial nomenclature. He is known as the father of modern taxonomy, and is also considered one of the fathers of modern ecology.

After his death he left enormous a enormous Herbarium. The Linnaean Herbarium contains some 14,300 specimens, many pre-dating Linnaeus seminal work, Species Plantarum (1753). More than 4,000 specimens are type specimens for Linnaean names. A type specimen is a specimen which is permanently associated with a given scientific name, and acts as a permanent reference to confirm the identity of the species to which the name must apply.

To find the geocache you will have to visit the traditional cache at Carl Linnaeus Birthplace Linnés Råshult (GC4WVF5) and find the Herbarium hidden in that container. Use that Herbarium and identify the plants, this will give you the coordinates to this geocache.
