About this cache:

The starting coordinates will take you to the start of the walkway leading towards the Humphrey Nature Center. As you meander down the walkway towards the Nature Center, you’ll notice three informational kiosks – one about stones, one about the forest and one about the land. Gather the following from each of these kiosks before continuing down the walkway to the Nature Center:

A Tale of Two Stones – the second digit in the ‘year’ the glacial erratic stone was brought here = D

A Tale of the Changing Forest – the third digit in your elevation = E

A Tale of Changing Land Use – number of farm horses minus the number of sisters = B

After you’ve learned so much, continue down the remainder of the trail to the Nature Center, where you’ll notice two more information kiosks just to the right of the entrance (as you’re facing it). One is about butterflies and the other is about sun & rain collection. Observe closely to get the information you need before the next step of your trek:

Butterfly Garden – number of adorable animals pictured = F

Solar & Rainwater Harvesting – number of RED cisterns pictured = C

Armed with a wealth of valuable knowledge, continue down the walkway towards the back of the Nature Center. In short order you’ll discover one final kiosk that perfectly sums up our motto in life. Check it out and capture one last piece of information so you can fill in the coordinates and find the final cache:

Go Explore! – the number of Pine Pond Walkers + the number of pileated woodpeckers pictured = A

Using the information you’ve complied, substitute to get the final cache coordinates:

42 35. A B C
78 02. D E F

About the Humphrey Nature Center:
The Humphrey Nature Center at Letchworth State Park opened in June 2016 and offers year-round environmental education opportunities for school groups, scouts, youth organizations, and the general public. Programming at the center focuses on the main topics of interest around the park, including geology, wildlife and botany. The building is open daily 10:00AM – 5:00PM.

The Humphrey Nature Center houses many interactive exhibits that especially highlight the plants and animals, geology and river ecology of Letchworth State Park. A video through the gorge during each of the four seasons plays on a loop on the face of a large reconstruction of the gorge wall. There is also large classroom/meeting space in the building.

Outside the Humphrey Nature Center, you will find an outdoor classroom, butterfly garden, a bird observation station, and sustainable features such as solar panels and a cistern for collecting rainwater. There are trails that leave from the center that bring visitors to different points of interest such as Trout Pond, Inspiration Point Overlook and patches of old growth forest.

An immense thank you to Paleoman52 for placing this cache (and for also being so photogenic).
