Give My Regards to Broad Street Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

Readington Ramble # 6
This is a quick and easy cache. Its purpose is to bring you to the quaint town of Three Bridges, at the Southern end of Readington Township. This cache replaces Books R Us.

Readington Ramble Series: Readington Township is a wonderful place to live. We wanted to create a series of caches that would give you a little tour of the Township and provide you with a little history as well. We’ll also point out the existing caches that you can visit while in the area. So to begin, you should know the basic facts. “July 15, 1730 was the official birth date of Readington Township. Created by Royal Charter as Readings, or Readings Town, it wasn't until 1798 that it became Readington Township. Containing about 48 square miles, ours is the largest Township in the County of Hunterdon and one of the largest in the State of New Jersey.” (From Readington Township History, by Stephanie B. Stevens, Township Historian, 1993)
Other caches included in the Readington Ramble Series: Hillcrest Hideaway, Hill of the Mill, Way Out of Whitehouse, Old Dutch Farm, Rockafellow Rapids, Higginsville Hike, Summer Fun.

Tucked way over in the most southerly corner of the Township is Three Bridges located on the Old York Road. During, and before, the Revolutionary War, Old York Road was one of the most important roads in the Colonies. You see, it connected the great cities of Philadelphia and New York. When the railroad went through the area in 1867, Three Bridges grew into a charming place filled with late nineteenth century homes. (From Readington Township History, by Stephanie B. Stevens, Township Historian, 1993)

This cache is a micro. It is located on private property (with the owner's permission) and it is requested that you pull into the driveway to get your car off the street. You do not need to disturb anything to find this cache. Unfortunately the nice lady that used to look for you from the house, is no longer with us. But her son would love to see you -- so smile and wave. Don't forget to SIGN the log and replace it as you found it. You will need to use your own writing implement.
