The Phenix City Parks and Recreation Department has been kind enough to allow caches to be placed on the parks that they manage...it only seems fair that on occasion cachers pitch in to support the parks in clean up efforts...hence a CITO!
There is a small park, attached to the Garrett-Harrison Stadium that has several picnic tables and BBQ grills. I was in the area the other day (caching of course) and noticed quite a bit of trash piled up along the small stream that feeds into Moon Lake. That trash is our target!
Be forewarned though...the sides of the stream are fairly steep (hence the increased Terrain level). The stream itself isnt very deep (and no one should be falling in of course), but we'll need to use a degree of caution just the same.
Bring your favorite trash TOTT, perhaps some gloves and your "can do" attitude. I'll bring trash bags and some water. Who knows what the weather will be like, so dress warmly!
There is plenty of parking for all at the coordinates and plenty of trash to pick up as well!
The CITO will go from 3-4pm on the 25th of February and there is no purchase necessary or parking fees required.
