Deze cache laat je kennismaken met de Klaas Hennepoelpolder en de erachter gelegen Veerpolder, die pas begin 2008 zijn opengesteld voor publiek. Het gebied wordt beheerd door het Zuid Hollands Landschap en is alleen toegankelijk tussen zonsopkomst en zonsondergang. Voorheen was er hier gewoon weiland, maar nadat de woonwijk Poelgeest werd gebouwd, is besloten om er een natuurgebied van te maken. Door grond af te graven en de waterstanden te wijzigen is het een waterrijk gebied geworden waarop heel veel vogels afkomen (zelfs lepelaars, zilverreigers, porceleinhoenen en dodaars). Verder lopen er schapen en koeien los. Dit betekent dat er helaas geen honden meekunnen tijdens de tocht. Houd er rekening mee dat het drassig kan zijn én dat er overal keutels liggen. Je kunt de tocht het beste lopend of met de fiets doen. Blijf op de paden.
Een bijzonder element is de molen 't Poeltje, een grondzeiler uit 1787, die tot 1924 de Klaas Hennepoelpolder bemaalde. De molen is door de Rijnlandse Molenstichting gerenoveerd. Verder wordt er sinds 2012 gebouwd aan een historische scheepswerf: de Klaas Hennepoel. Wanneer de scheepsbouwer aanwezig is, ben je van harte welkom om een kijkje op de werf te nemen.

The golddiggers stroke a new gold vein! The result is our first genuine goldmine. We think it is also a splendid place for co-cachers. So come and visit us. The cache is a walk of approximately 3 km. Note that the Goldmine has been moved at the end of 2012. The calculation has been adjusted.
This cache will introduce you to the Klaas Hennepoelpolder and the Veerpolder that lies behind it. Both polders have only been opened for public as from the beginning of 2008. It is managed by the Landscaping Organisation of South Holland (Zuid Hollands Landschap) and is only accessible between sunrise and sundawn. It used to be just grasland, but after building the new residential area Poelgeest, decisions have been made to change it into a nature reserve. By digging off soil and through changing the water levels it has become a watery area that attracts lots of birds (even spoonbills, aigrettes, little greebs). Furthermore sheep and cow walk about freely. That means that, unfortunately, no dogs are allowed on the trip. Take into account that it can be swampy and that there will be lots of droppings. The excursion can best be done walking or by bike. Stay on the path.
A remarkable element is the mill "'t Poeltje" a so called "grondzeiler" from 1787, that has been draining the Klaas Hennepoelpolder up till 1924. The mill has been renovated by the Rijnland Mill Foundation (Rijnlandse Molenstichting). Furthermore since the beginning of 2012 a historic shipyard: de Klaas Hennepoel, is being built. You're welcome to take a look, when the shipbuilder is present.
