Bunya State School was active between 1875 and 1965. It consisted of the main schoolhouse, the headmaster's quarters and an outdoor shelter area. The foundations of these building can still be seen at the site on your way to the cache. Parking is best obtained 50m up the hill on the opposite side of the road. The site has recently been cleaned up by the council and has a few signs letting you know where things are.
You will have to walk through the old school site and off into the bush aways to find the cache itself. After the school was closed down the local scout group took over the land as a camp and activity ground until the late 80's. The location of the cache is a meeting place the scouts made just across the creek. There are old washing lines, scrap and a disused bridge on the way.
The cache itself is a large ammunition case and shouldn't be too hard to find.
This is just a fun little area to explore and I hope you enjoy the historical adventure.
