Located in the middle of Fond du Lac, this paved trail used to be the north/south railroad line that started at "Stinky Point". A short distance from the cache is the split in the line... one going southeast to Milwaukee and the other that went southwest to Clyman, which is now the Wild Goose Trail.
In Fond du Lac's early years, goods and supplies would be delivered by way of the Great Lakes shipping channels, then floated up the Fox River from Green Bay to Lake Winnebago.
They would then dock in the mouth of the Fond du Lac River to unload their cargo which would then head south on the rail lines.
The cache can be approached from 9th or 12th St.
Congrats to TJSAAVEDRA on #1200!
