Geocache Description:

You are looking for a 30 cal ammo box placed on the very tip top of Baldy Peak at 6,432 ft. elevation. Beautiful views in all directions. Depending on your skill level you may need rope and climbing gear to be safe, so I've rated this a 5 for terrain. My dog Rocky (Blue Heeler) made it to the top, but had to be assited getting down, so be safe and use good judgement.

Another top 100 highest caches to add to the list. I was camping/hiking across the valley and could see Baldy Mtn, so decided to see how close I could get. Best road is via Mud Creek Rd off the Entiat River Rd. to FS 8410. Miles of climbing/rd lead you up to the high burned off country of the Ential Fire.

Depending on snow conditions, you may be able to drive to within 1/2 mile of the cache. When the cache was placed it was a 6 mile r/t hike. Good gravel roads throughout the area, so most cars shouldn't have a problem once the snow melts.

If you can drive close to the cache it will be about a 500 ft. elevation gain and about 1 mile r/t hike. The last 75 ft. might require ropes and climbing gear. The best side to access the cache is the north side. While placing the cache my dog Rocky decided to join me on top, so he made it up fine, but it was fun trying to get him down. It's not that difficult, but please use good judgement and don't get hurt.

Enjoy the great 360 degree views to Lk Chelan and all directions. I couldn't find a summit register, so this can be used as one.
