“Gå din vei, skilpadde! ropte den lille gutten. Gå ut i havet igjen! De to halveis gjenlukkede, svarte øynene til skilpadden stirret på gutten. Øynene var klare og livlige og fulle av alder og visdom. Gutten så tilbake på skilpadden og denne gangen var stemmen veldig myk og fortrolig: Adjø, gamle mann, sa han. Dra langt vekk denne gangen. De svarte øynene så på gutten enda noen sekunder. Ingen rørte på seg. Så snudde det kjempestore dyret seg og begynte den ærverdige vaggingen ned mot vannet. Den hadde ikke hast...”

Den ble avduket i 2016 og er laget av Fredrik Raddum
Som utgangspunkt for skulpturen, har Raddum valgt novellen om Gutten som kunne snakke med dyrene. Dette er en fantasifull historie om en gutt som velger å dra ut i den store verden sammen med en skilpadde han har reddet fra suppegryta. For kunstneren er dette en historie som handler om menneskets ansvar ovenfor naturen, men den handler også om å bryte opp og begi seg ut i den store verden på eventyr! It was unveiled in 2016 and is made by Fredrik Raddum
As inspiration for the sculpture, Raddum has chosen the short story about the boy who could talk to the animals. This is an imaginative story of a boy who chooses to go out into the big world with a turtle he has rescued from soup stew.
