Cosa possiamo trovare sotto il Duomo di Milano???
Il battistero di San Giovanni alle Fonti fu uno dei primi battisteri della città di Milano. Sorgeva dove oggi si trova la facciata del duomo di Milano, e si trovava tra la cattedrale invernale di Santa Maria Maggiore e la cattedrale estiva di Santa Tecla
Storia e architettura
Costruito tra il 378 e il 397, era probabilmente un battistero soltanto maschile: è qui che nella Pasqua del 387 Ambrogio vescovo battezzò Agostino d'Ippona, recentemente convertitosi al cristianesimo ortodosso, insieme con il figlio Adeodato e alcuni amici.
I resti del battistero vennero scoperti nel 1889 e si trovano ad un livello inferiore di 3,8 metri rispetto al pavimento del Duomo, mentre il pavimento della vasca ottagonale è ad un livello di 4,50 metri rispetto al pavimento. Vi sono tracce di un rivestimento marmoreo, e circa al centro della vasca vi è un foro per l'acqua servito da un apposito condotto.

Davanti al Duomo di Milano, incisi nel pavimento esterno, si trovano i confini dell'antico battistero di San Giovanni, i cui resti possono essere visitati accedendo dall'interno della cattedrale.

The baptistery of San Giovanni alle Fonti was one of the first baptistery in the city of Milan. It was where the façade of the Milan cathedral stood today, and was between the Santa Maria Maggiore winter cathedral and the Santa Tecla summer cathedral
History and architecture
Built between 378 and 397, it was probably a masculine baptistery. It is here that in 389 Ambrose Bishop's Baptism he was baptized by Hippopotamus, recently converted to orthodox Christianity, along with his Adeodato son and some friends.
The remains of the baptistery were discovered in 1889 and are located at a lower level of 3.8 meters from the floor of the Duomo, while the floor of the octagonal bath is at a level of 4.50 meters above the floor. There are traces of a marble coating, and around the center of the tub there is a hole for water served by a special duct.
In front of the Duomo of Milan, engraved in the outer floor, lie the boundaries of the ancient Baptistery of St. John, whose remains can be visited by accessing the inside of the cathedral.

Histoire et architecture
Construit entre 378 et 397, c'était probablement un baptistère masculin. C'est ici qu'en 389, le baptême de l'évêque d'Ambrose fut baptisé par Hippopotame, récemment converti au christianisme orthodoxe, avec son fils Adeodato et des amis.
Le baptistère a été découvert en 1889 et se situe à un niveau inférieur de 3,8 mètres du sol de la cathédrale. Il y a un tracé de revêtement en marbre et d'un conduit spécial.
Le baptistère de Saint-Jean, dont les restes peuvent être visités en accédant à l'intérieur de la cathédrale.

Pour des raisons de sécurité, le cache est proposé en 3 versions:

Křtitelnice San Giovanni alle Fonti byla jednou z prvních křtitelnic v Miláně. Bylo to místo, kde se narodila fasáda milánské katedrály a byla mezi zimní katedrálou Santa Maria Maggiore a letní katedrálou Santa Tecla.
Historie a architektura
Postaven v letech 378 a 397, to bylo pravděpodobně mužské křtitelnice. To je tady to v 389 Ambrose Bishop křtu byl pokřtěn Hippopotamus, nedávno konvertoval k pravoslavnému křesťanství, spolu s jeho synem Adeodato a někteří přátelé.
Křtitelnice byla objevena v roce 1889 a nachází se na nižší úrovni 3,8 metrů od podlahy katedrály. Tam je trasování mramorového povlaku, a zvláštního kanálu.
Křtitelnice sv. Jana, jejíž pozůstatky lze navštívit přístupem dovnitř katedrály.

Construido entre 378 y 397, probablemente fue un baptisterio masculino. Es aquí donde el Bautismo del Obispo de Ambrose fue bautizado por Hipopótamo, recientemente convertido al cristianismo ortodoxo, junto con su hijo Adeodato y algunos amigos.

Das Baptisterium von San Giovanni alle Fonti war eines der ersten Baptisterien in der Stadt Mailand. Hier entstand die Fassade des Mailänder Doms zwischen der Winterkathedrale Santa Maria Maggiore und der Sommerkathedrale Santa Tecla
Geschichte und Architektur
Es wurde zwischen 378 und 397 erbaut und war wahrscheinlich ein männliches Baptisterium. Hier wurde 389 die Taufe des Ambrosius-Bischofs von Hippopotamus, der kürzlich zum orthodoxen Christentum konvertiert war, zusammen mit seinem Adeodato-Sohn und einigen Freunden getauft.
Das Baptisterium wurde 1889 entdeckt und befindet sich auf einer unteren Ebene von 3,8 Metern über dem Boden der Kathedrale. Es gibt eine Spur von Marmorbeschichtung und von einem speziellen Kanal.
Das Baptisterium des Hl. Johannes, dessen Überreste über das Innere der Kathedrale besichtigt werden können.
