This cache is in a white plastic container placed in the sand dunes, above the high water line. It is located near the wreck of the Mexican Gunboat Montezuma which ran aground during a battle, April 30, 1843.
The wreck was clearly visible during low tide and you can drive on the beach, again during low tide, to the wreck site.
Take Highway 4 to the end at Boca Chica and turn right or south.
2016, the wreck is no longer visible, shifting sands have covered it again.
