Geocache Description:

Easy walk and wonderful view. Follow the trail along the ridge. Look for wild turkeys and deer!

The Cold Brook Overlook offers a great view of Cold Brook Reservoir and Dam. This impoundment was established as flood protection for the city of Hot Springs. The reservoir is a favorite local fishing spot, I lived in Hot Springs for several years, and the ice fishing a early spring trout fishing was always very good. The swimming beach on the opposite side of the reservoir from your vantage point is also a favorite destination for locals looking to swim without shelling out the $$ to visit Evans Plunge. The water is always cool and clear.

Cache is a 1/3 Gal Thermos - camouflaged. Original contents include a Log book and pencil, Canadian Loony, Kalaidoscope, Plastic Bat (flying mammal - not a stick fame), 2 rubber frogs, 2 sea shells and 2 travel bugs (Annie Alligator - 301928, and '71 Pinto - QJVDXW). Happy hunting, and enjoy the view!

The area can get visitors - so beware of muggles. Please rehide cache as you found it.
