Herman Lake does not look like much of a lake from the road, more like a pond with trees growing in it, but the small Herman Lake is a serene mountain lake with a unique and diverse ecosystem of woodland and wetland wonders. Herman Lake has a 50-meter boardwalk protruding over a marsh to the edge of the lake, and there are trails that loop Herman Lake allowing viewing of birds and waterfowl. Public access to the small, timbered Herman Lake Recreation Site is on the west side of Herman Lake, and a private wilderness camp with scattered campsites is on the north end of Herman Lake. Fishing is good for rainbow and brook trout. Access to Herman Lake from White Lake. There is a junction at approximately N 50°54.634 and W 119°10.079, stay left.
