This cache is to celebrate 50 consecutive reunion’s of scratch1(L’s) family. The reunion has been held in June on the closest weekend to my Grandparents anniversary for the past 49 years. In 2008 we have moved the reunion to July to allow for more people to attend. Most years we have 75 to 125 people in attendance but this years being a special year we had 245 plus people attend the three day event traveling from British Columbia to Ontario, Cuba & Japan. My ancestors immigrated to Canada from Scotland in 1815 and settled in Perth County Ontario. As a young man in his 20th my grandfather first came to the Harris/Zealandia area which was then the NW Territories. On his land he erected a sod house & barn then returned to Ontario to bring his wife and family of 4 to their new home on the prairies. Their 5th child was the first baby to be born in the area and the first school was on the corner of their property. They had a family of 12 children, my father being the youngest and the last to pass away at the age of 90. The cache has been placed at the edge of the cemetery which is the resting place for many of my relatives. Congratulations to Magey on your FIRST FTF!!
