Geocache Description:

The cache can be approached from all points of the compass and is close to the confluence of several long distance paths including the Jubilee and the Hardy Trails.

There is plenty of parking space in Beaminster or, if you want a shorter walk, limited space in the lay-by close to where the Beaminster Ramblers Millenium Trail crosses the A3066. The cache, which is surrounded by a lot of stinging nettles, so take care, is in a large white tupperware box.

Close to the cache are the graves of 2nd Lt William Barnes Rhodes-Moorhouse VC, No 2 Sqn RFC, died from wounds received in action on 27 Apr 1915 aged 27, and his son, Flt Lt William Henry Rhodes-Moorhouse DFC, No 601 Sqn, killed in action on 6 Sep 1940 (Battle of Britain) aged 26.

If you have a dog with you, we recommend that you keep it on a lead for the last 100 metres or you run the risk of loosing it down a badger set.
