Geocache Description:

Holiday Cookie Exchange.

Date: Saturday December 16, 2017

Time: 5:00pm-6:30pm

Location: Lake Forest Oasis

How exactly does the cookie exchange work? It's pretty simple. Just bake three (3) dozen cookies and bring 'em to the event! Also, please e-mail your recipe to the event hosts. I will post a link here after the event has taken place. A few notes:

  • Please bring three (3) dozen of the same type. That way, people won't feel like they missed something. ("Hey, did you try the red-and-green vanilla squares from cacher X?" "Uh no, I thought she made the sugar-dusted gingerbread stars!")
  • Place your cookies in Ziploc bags; to be specific, bring eighteen (18) bags containing two (2) cookies each. Label the outside of the bags with your caching alias and cookie name, along the lines of "kerrillbs: No-Bake Scotchies."
  • If you feel uncomfortable sharing a particular cookie recipe with others, go with a recipe you don't mind making public. One of the best parts of a cookie exchange is seeing what went into each creation, and then re-creating them later.
  • The exchange takes place between chefs. All are VERY welcome, but you'll need to steal cookies from the baker's take-home collection.
  • Please, no store-bought or prepared dough cookies. We're looking for original work here. Put simply, you gotta bake 'em to take 'em. ;-)
  • Why only three (3) dozen? Because we don't want people to stress out! If we asked folks to bring one dozen for each attendee and 24 cachers signed up, you'd need to bake a whopping 288 cookies! Better to go with a small number and use any extra time to go caching.
