As part of the 2017 Spring CITO week in Downingtown, PA, we will be joining the Downingtown Parks & Rec Department to (re)clean up Johnsontown Park, giving back to the community! We cleaned up here four years ago, and it's time to clean up again. We'll be joined this year by volunteers from Downingtown and members of the Parks & Rec Department.
This will be a CITO event located at Johnsontown Park.
This event will last from 9:00AM until 12:00PM.
What should we bring? Drinking water is essential.
Trash bags & trash removal services will be provided by the Borough of Downingtown.
Gloves or other protective gear. First aid needs. Limited gloves will be available from Parks & Rec, but only in size too-small. Please bring your own gloves. We will not be near any roads, so safety vests are optional. This is a kids' park, so you can bring the kids along to clean up the playground and field spaces, but keep a close eye on them if you venture down near the Brandywine Creek.
Camera if possible. Remember to take pictures and upload them to the CITO event page.
The park itself is handicapped accessible. Wading in the Brandywine Creek East Branch for trash removal is optional, and should not be considered for children, or if there have been recent heavy rains.
