This cache has been relocated a short distance away from
it's original site to avoid impact of foot traffic on
sensitive environment. Thanks to the local rangers for
letting us know what to do.
This cache is accessed by following the Pomo Canyon Trail
along the Sonoma Coast State Beach. Elevation gain: 700 feet. Trail length: 3.0 mi one way.
Car parking is available either at the Shell Beach parking
lot (along Hwy 1), or at the Pomo Canyon Campground lot
(at the end of Willow Creek Road off Hwy 1). If you park
at Shell Beach, walk across Hwy 1 to find the trailhead.
If you park at the Pomo Canyon Campground, follow the signs
for the Pomo Canyon trail.
This cache container is a clear plastic jar with a white
lid.
We placed a number of small items in the cache with
a general theme of sea/water things. The cache also
contains a logbook. We did not have a disposable
camera with us to replenish the cache. This would
be a useful addition to the cache from any visitor.
