The city of Fort Lauderdale will be organinzing a beach sweep on Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Volunteers should be 8 years of age- adults must accompany minors.Should wear appropriate attires Tshirts and shorts are acceptable.You can bring your hats,sun screen and water.Must wear closed toe shoes.NO FLIP FLOPS.Registration at the site is required and liability waivers need to be signed.
Students receive community service credit
On Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 7am -11am Fort Lauderdale Beach Sweep will celebrate its one year anniversary. We will be participating in the Ocean Conservancy's annual international coastal cleanup and are looking forward to a record breaking participation. Over the last year more than 1,000 pounds of garbage, plastic, and recyclables were collected during beach sweeps, which makes a significant difference to our environment and has notable economic impact. The volunteer organization is partnering with the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Neighbor Volunteer Office and has also enlisted the help of the environmental education group Kids Ecology Corps.
