Description:
In 1994 a 9-hole golf course opened here. The owner had to close the golf course in 2006 due to illness and passed away in 2012 after a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer.

Sussex County purchased the land in May 2010 in preparation for the Nanticoke River dredging project. The year-long project which deepened the main channel from nine to 12 feet has been completed.

Since only about half of the 41 acre property was utilized to deposit material dredged from the river, Sussex County is utilizing the remaining 20 acres for a low-impact park that features a natural wildlife setting and trails ideal for biking and walking. This park is publicly accessible with no charge to enter, open daily from dawn to dusk.
