Know Pekin Traditional Cache
The Inkwell: Hate to archive this one but it's gone missing at least 3-4 times. We think it's time to let it go once and for all. Thanks for all who have visited and thank you for the favorite points. We'll rethink a hide here in the future unless someone else wants to place something here. Sorry for those who couldn't find it.

Welcome to wonderful Pekin, NY! What the heck is Pekin, you ask? Well, it’s a hamlet located in Niagara County, just north of Sanborn; technically, Pekin is a part of Cambria.
Pekin is home to, naturally, the Pekin Fire Hall, the famous Schimschacks Restaurant, a former stop on the Underground Railroad (private residence on Upper Mtn. Rd.) and Mount View Cemetery, which houses a monument that dates back to the Civil War.
The monument is located on a small hill in the back of Mount View Cemetery. It honors Pekin’s Civil War dead. You are looking for a micro cache in the area of the monument. Bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log and remember that the cemetery is only open from dawn until dusk; do not attempt to find this cache after hours! You won’t need to disturb any graves/monuments/etc. while looking for the cache. Please take the time to rehide the cache after finding it. This area offers a cool piece of local history, as well as a wonderful view from the Niagara Escarpment.
Good luck and happy caching!
