FYI -- A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly
in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time,
and then quickly disperse.
DATE: Saturday, November 10, 2007
TIME: 9:00AM to 9:15AM (Yep, only 15 minutes!)
WHERE: Panorama Park, Cathedral City, CA
WHAT: A 15 minute geocacher mob
You've heard of mega-events? This is quite the opposite. This
event will last exactly 15 minutes, not one second longer!
This event will be one small part of the WWFM (World Wide Flash
Mob) event. This event (and all others around the globe in their
time zone) will begin precisely at 9:00AM on Saturday, November
10th.
8:45 - 8:59AM - Participants: Wait patiently in your
automobile or stroll around the area.
STAY AWAY from ground zero! As much as you, can act like a
muggle.
At 8:59AM make your way toward the event coordinates.
At exactly 9:00AM (as determined by your GPS clock) We will
place a bucket for log sheets near the coordinates. As you arrive,
we'll hand you a "log sheet" or feel free to bring a small piece of
paper with your name already written on it. Participants will sign
the log sheets (which will later become the log book). To qualify
for attendance, drop them in the designated bucket (near the
coordinates).
At 9:05AM we will gather and take a group photo. Then at
9:10AM we will draw a name from the bucket of log sheets for
the title of First to Find and serve our “meal” of Hershey’s
Kisses.
At exactly 9:15AM, the log sheets will be packed up and
sealed away.
The event area will be evacuated without a trace.
Events that happen after 9:15 AM DO NOT COUNT as part of THIS
event. Only those participants whose names appear on the log
sheets may log THIS event.
If everything goes right we will have lots of people coming out of
nowhere and gathering for 15 minutes, hold a geocaching event, and
then disappearing… This could be lots of fun and maybe even raise a
few muggle eyebrows!
Remember to check your GPSr clock; you are in the PACIFIC TIME
ZONE!
I will need a few volunteers to help with this event. Let me
know if you can help!
