Geocache Description:

This cache's inspiration is the boat on Douglas promenade, which celebrates 100 Years of The Brownies.

.

On the 15th of May 2010 1st Onchan Brownies & Douglas Corporation placed a boat on Douglas Promenade to celebrate 100 years of the Brownies; a guiding organisation for girls from their seventh birthday to their tenth. The Centenary year is between September 2009 and October 2010, when various Brownies groups will be taking part in a series of events in countries such as Australia, Canada, Singapore, the UK, the USA, Hong Kong, Jersey, Guernsey and of course here on the Isle of Man. Will any of you geocachers admit to being a brownie in your youth? Share your memories.

"We're Brownie Guides, we're Brownie Guides
We're here to lend a hand
To love our God and serve our Queen
And to help our homes and land
We've Brownie friends, we've Brownie friends
In North, South, East and West
We're joined together in our wish
To try to do our best"

Please bring your own pen/pencil. Watch out for muggles (which are plentiful on the prom so please be extra careful) and HAPPY CACHING.
