A quick cache and dash outside the University of Wales in Lampeter.
Who would have thought it? A university in a small town (really, a village, in truth) in the heart of West Wales.
The University was founded in 1822 as St David's College (Coleg Dewi Sant), becoming St David's University College (Coleg Prifysgol Dewi Sant) in 1971, when it became part of the federal University of Wales. Since 2010 it is known as Trinity Saint David (Prifysgol Cymru y Drindod Dewi Sant) having merged with Trinity University College in Camarthen.
The cache is accessible 24 hours a day, but if the gates are open pop in and take a look at the historic Saint David's Building. Immediate access to the cache is wheelchair friendly, but some assistance may be required for the final retrieval.
I hope to expand this into a series looking at other interesting spots in and around the town. If you have time I recommend the nearby Peterwell Cache. A splended walk along the banks of the river Teifi
