The Terrain Five Picnic Event will be held on Springbank Island, located in the West Basin of Lake Burley Griffin. This Event has a D1/T5 rating. This is because the only means of access to the island is across the lake by Boat, Swimming, Paddle Craft, Kayak or Inflatable Boat. It is the responsibility of each individual to arrange how they will get to and from the island.
Please BYO some food and drinks to share at the event. There will be a FTF Random Prize Draw at the Event.
This event will run for 30 min long. The event is about bringing geocachers together for a picnic, a social gathering and to swap pathtags or TB's. I am going to bring a soccer ball for a friendly game on the island (our own mini world cup).
The perimeter of the island is lined with trees. The island is quite bare, other than the picnic area and shelter (at the western end of the island). There is two Barbecue facilities, tap water, picnic tables and toilets are also available. However there is No Power source on the island.
Optional: There are two T5 geocaches on the island but these are not the focus of the event.
