Geocache Description:

A regular cache located in the Ryder Lake community. Easily done by a car or a bike (if you're up for a workout!). A great beginner, go-to cache.

The Ryder Lake Ramble is coming up on its second anniversary. To celebrate my second cacheversary and the first cache that I hid, I've scanned all of the original logbook entries and uploaded them to this cache page.
Due to construction in the area, this once "was" multicache was changed to a go-to cache for beginning cachers. It was named for a local event held during the second weekend in June known as the "Ryder Lake Ramble." Don't forget to bring a good book, grubbies for the kids, or a picnic lunch as the location is great for some R&R. You can stay put at the Ryder Lake Park or venture further up the road to hike nearby Elk Mountain. Assuming that you are coming from Highway #1, take the Prest Rd. (#123) exit and head south until you get to Bailey Road (turn left here). Follow this road until it turns into Elk View Rd and begins to ascend the hillside. The cache is a 2.2 L clear, see through Rubbermaid Serve'nSaver. There is some signal bounce due to the tree cover at the cache location. Also, shorts are not recommended.
