Geocache Description:

PLEASE NOTE: THE DIRECTOR OF THE WELCOME CENTER HAS POSTED A NO TRESSPASSING SIGN DUE TO PEOPLE CROSSING THEIR PROPERTY WITH 4-WHEELERS. THIS POSTING IS NOT MEANT FOR GEOCACHERS! GEOCACHERS ARE STILL WELCOME!!

This is the official geocache of the Northern Allegheny Vacation Region and a nice easy find to welcome visitors and local residents alike to the new visitors center on Route 6, west of Warren. Park in the new visitor’s center parking lot and make a relatively easy find of this traditional size cache.

After you have traded goodies and signed the logbook, be sure and stop in the visitor’s center and say hello to the friendly folks there, as the cache is placed with their blessing. They will be glad to offer their hospitality and plenty of information about local attractions. Whether you are a tourist or a local, they would love to talk to you and have you sign their guest register.

The cache is accessible 24 hours a day, however, the Visitor Center has limited hours. The center is open from: 9am - 5:30pm on Weekdays and on Weekends: 11am - 3pm. Please disturb the area as little as possible, and replace the cache as you found it.

Welcome To Warren County! Enjoy our hospitality!

UPDATE 10/28/06 I received a log on 10/26/06 indicating that there was a Do Not Enter sign posted between the parking lot and the cache location, so I stopped by today to check out
>the posted sign. I checked with the Director of the Vacation Bureau
>and found out that the "Do Not Enter" sign was directed at vehicular
>traffic, not geocachers. Apparently they had a problem with four
>wheelers trespassing the property, and creating erosion & drainage
>problems. The sign was posted to keep the four wheelers out, but
>geocachers are still welcome according to the director of the
>welcome center. The cache is placed with permission on property
>owned by the visitors center. Keep on caching! kcepenn
