Lady of Leisure Traditional Cache
Team Bacmac: It's with mixed feelings that I'm archiving this cache. Some people have expressed discomfort at having to travel between private yards, even though this is a public trailhead. As summer approaches, parking will also become more difficult.

An easy micro in Yorktown Heights, NY.
I (Mac) quit my job about a month ago and have so far spent the summer doing things I couldn't easily accomplish before: spending time with my family, errands and chores, and, of course, geocaching!
I combined several of these activies one day by dropping the car off for service, taking Freya the geopup to the vet for a checkup, then walking with her to explore a trailhead I've seen for years at the eastern end of Underhill Ave. in Yorktown Heights.
What I found was a charming little, wildly overgrown preserve. There is a small stream where Freya cooled off on this, the hottest day of 2011 so far (see photo).
Because I walked there, parking was not a problem. Some cachers have parked on the street. Residents of Yorktown can park at the nearby Junior Lake pool; I've included parking coords.
I've also included coords for the trailhead. Actually, "trailhead" is a rather grandiose term, as there are no trails, marked or otherwise, in the preserve. The trailhead coords will bring you to a sign stating that the property is Yorktown Parks & Recreation Land and that dumping is prohibited under penalty of fine.
I've indicated that the terrain is a "2" due to the lack of trails and light bushwacking needed. If you are concerned about ticks and/or scratches on your legs, long pants may be in order.
Cache is a camo'd 35 mm film canister with only a log & not room for anything else. BYOPOP.
