Geocache Description:

This cache container hidden near a piece of sculpture is a large PET tube.

The cache location is at an art installation created by Danish artist Fritse Rind in 1993. It is one of a number of installations along the Tír Sáile or The North Mayo Sculpture Trail and is the largest public arts project carried out in Ireland. It runs from Ballina all the way along the North Mayo coast to the Mullet peninsula.

The trail was created to celebrate the existence of 5000 years of human activity in the region after the discovery of the largest Neolithic site in the world at Céide Fields about 8km west of here.

Description of sculpture

’’This is a place where strong elements - sea, storm, land - give continuous battle to man and to each other. The 30m long sculpture gives form to a frozen moment in an ongoing struggle between two forces of a different nature.’’

Please rehide and Reseal the container as you found it! Thanks.
