Recommend parking at the end of Dunachton Road, Then walk through the gate.
*Note* You will come acorss a bridge that takes you over the railway line, as long as you don't weigh 10tons you will be fine.

Kincraig as part of the Cairngorms National Park, is an area of outstanding natural beauty containing some of the most treasured landscapes and rare wildlife. Vast ancient forests, hidden lochs and heather clad moor lands flank the famous River Spey and its tributaries. The snow capped hills of the Cairngorm range provide a dramatic backdrop to this true Highland village.
Kincraig was originally called Boat of Insh. Before the bridge was built, you crossed the Spey by ferry, at the northeast end of Loch Insh.
Years ago, the Loch was renowned for large catches of salmon and pike, where 60 salmon were recorded as being taken out of the loch at one time.
This scenic walk is ideal to take along a picnic and just slow down the pace of life and soak up the views in all directions.
If after the cache you wished to continue a stroll along the Loch, you can make a circular walk by following the Loch NE towards the village. It emerges just up the road from the Post Office / Local Store, at a gate. From this point head up the road under the railway bridge until you come across Dunachton Road. (Recommended)
