Geocache Description:

The Official 2008 Leap Year

All are invited to join Super_Nate and friends for the celebration of a day that only takes place once every four years! How shameful would it be to have 29 days in February, and not do something out of the ordinary on a not-so-ordinary day? Okay, so work is not canceled....school is not canceled....shopping centers are still open....and traffic is still heavy. Might as well get together and do at least one minor action to top off the 60th of 366 days in 2008!

So you might ask...so what is the big deal? I've seen Leap years in my life before, and I will continue to see them. Heck, four years is not that extraordinary! To that I say....valid argument and point well taken. HOWEVER, this day holds ANOTHER unusual trait that can only been witnessed 3 to 4 times in a LIFETIME! So here is the scoop taken from this informative website on leap year facts: "February 2008 has five Fridays - it starts and ends on a Friday. Between 1904 and 2096, leap years with same day of week for each date repeat every 28 years which means that the last time February had 5 Fridays was in 1980 and next time will be in 2036."

SO WHAT A BETTER REASON TO HAVE A GATHERING (minor as it may turn out)

For this event, we will be having a tailgate picnic lunch. When I arrive at the intended target, I will have been out of classes for 30 minutes and I will be hungry. So I am inviting anybody who wants to join me to a tailgate picnic lunch at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Ooltewah!

The rules of this game is we will park our vehicles in a row, all facing the same direction. Trucks must have the tailgate down, SUVs must have the hatch raised, and sedans must have the trunks open. Then we shall break out the picnic food and eat it from our tailgates....aka rear of vehicle....while socializing and catching up with each other. Their will be travel bugs, jeeps, and geocoins to swap and discover.

This event will begin at 2:00pm and will get over whenever we get tired of each other and wanna go home. This event is nothing really exciting or special at all....just a simple gathering because I am gonna be there anyway, and why not get a smiley on such a rare day?

What: An event to eat picnic food, socialize, and swap trackables from the tailgates of our automobiles.
When: Friday, February 29, 2008 @ 2:00pm
Where: The Wal-Mart parking lot in Ooltewah
Why: Because this day is a very rare day that deserves at least one minor contrubution from me in observance!
