Geocache Description:

Our Cache is hidden on Pleasant Mountain. Although there are a number a trails on the mountain, the "Ledges Trail" starts up the moutain from a dirt parking lot on the Moose Lake side of Mountain Road across from the trail head. The parking lot is approx. 3 miles from Route 302 on Mountain Road. Although there has been some logging near the base of the mountain the trail includes lots of wonderful Maine forest and spectacular views. The hike to the cache should take about 1.5 hours.

Pleasant Surprise has been renamed Pleasant Surprise II and was hidden in a new location by members of our expanded team. The cache is in an entirely new, waterproof container and contains a number of interesting (and dry) items. We will continue to monitor the cache, albeit from the Southwest and are pleased that so many hikers have enjoyed searching for it. We invite past visitors to return.
