The City of Rock Hill and area geocachers would like to invite anyone who is interested in knowing more about geocaching to join us for a fun filled Geocaching 101 event on Dec. 8th at 10:30am in Cherry Park.
This is a chance for interested families and individuals to learn about this exciting and fun outdoor activity and for the more experienced cachers to come out see old friends and make new ones. There will be several new caches placed in the park just for this event so everyone will have a chance to be FTF (first to find), or just experience the thrill of locating a hidden treasure. Different types of caches such as puzzles, regular, and micros will be hidden so you will have a chance to try out your skills and find the hidden treasures.
We will cover information for beginners such as what to look for in a GPS, how to get around geocaching.com, and geocaching in Rock Hill Parks (Do's & Dont's).
There will be prizes generously donated by the City of Rock Hill and other geocaching companies. If you have coins or TBs that you would like to bring to share or exchange please do so.
Bring your GPSr, your comfortable clothes and come on out. There is no charge and all are welcome. We hope to hear lots of TFTC (thanks for the cache) and introduce lots of new cachers to the offerings in the Rock Hill Parks.
