Geocache Description:

This is our first geocache event to host with cohosts: Jahoadi and John with SqrRigger/Ty

When: Saturday, April 19 from 1000-1230, raffle at noon sharp

Location: Otay Lakes County Park
2270 Wueste Road, Chula Vista CA 91915

Come join others who enjoy Geocaching. Savor the refreshments while exchanging travel bugs and caching adventures. Consider bringing a friend to the event who has never gone geocaching. This would be a wonderful opportunity to pack a lunch, and drinks, introduce them to the sport, and then take them on a search for a nearby cache.

There are plenty of caches nearby. Visit this link, (visit link)

Come and enjoy the beautiful view of Otay Lake and the surrounding hills. The 78-acre park, which is also the proposed eastern gateway/staging area for the Otay Valley Regional Park, has long been a favorite in the South Bay. A playground, horseshoe courts, hiking trails, lawn area, and native plant/demonstration garden are a few of the many reasons to visit Otay Lakes County Park.

Individuals or businesses interested in donating items to be raffled are encouraged to contact me directly. Parking is $3 or you can park nearby for free at the entrance to the park.

Grab your picnic and drinks and come join us on Saturday, April 19th at 10 AM. Please add a note with the number of people joining you so we can coordinate with the Park Rangers.

Update 4-17-2008
Looks like we will have a large crowd so parking might be limited in the park. Parking is available outside the gate. I will also hide a cache on Friday, then post the coords before the event. So keep a watch on this.

Update 4-6-2008
Jodi is preparing a geocacher bingo game. She will also bring gallons of fresh lemonade + a case of water. I have been notified of several donations. There will be a FREE raffle at noon sharp. No $$$ required for the raffle. We will have a prize for the person wearing the best camo gear. Be sure to bring chairs, since seating will be limited.
