This cash is located under the shelter “Koncheto” (“The horse”), in Pirin Mountain, which is in the southwest part of Bulgaria. The aim is to undertake a long and difficult summer walk along the one of the most picturesque parts of Pirin's landscape- ridge Koncheto – with the highest peaks situated around it.
The altitude is approximately 2,780 meters. It is the lowest (2810 m) and the narrowest (up to 50 sm) section of the Karst edge between the peaks of Banski Suhodol (2,884 meters) to the northwest and Kutello II (2,908 meters) to the westeast. The saddle is about 150 m long. It is an un-wooded, narrow and hard to cross saddle. There are steep slopes on either side: the northwestern side is almost vertical and approximately 300 meters deep, while the southwestern side is less steep (approximately 30 degrees) but deeper (800 meters). There is a steel cable stretched along the top of the ridge to help hikers across. Although you don’t need special equipment in summer, some parts of the track are dangerous and it is not recommended for hikers with acrophobia. Nevertheless there are many alpinists who passed the ridge in winter time, the walk is highly recommended only in summer, in good weather conditions and have in mind that the terrain is waterless, so you will need to bring at least 3 letters water with you.
Despite difficulties, it is worth doing it. The walk would become an experience for a lifetime because the panorama is astonishing – white marble peaks that took a leading position in height, shining glacial lakes in deep cirques, formed as a result of the ice, beautiful alpine edges, moraine fields and vertical cliffs dropping to dizzy abysses. You can see edelweiss along the Koncheto slope - extremely rare and beautiful plant under protection.
Through the Koncheto saddle passes a tourist route from the “Yavorov” chalet to the chalets of “Banderitsa” and “Vihren”. Because of the frequent changes in weather was built shelter “Koncheto”. It is located southeast of mountain peak Bayuvi dupki, at 2760 m above sea level. The shelter is actually a wooden barrack, with twin walls, a door and a window. It is attached to the nearby rocks by steel ropes. Spending the night here is only admissible in cases of emergency.
The cache contents some balloons, a coin, a small stone and some little plastic toys.
