Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Yes this is a Micro.....But do not let that hinder your decision to
find this one. You are not looking for a needle in a haystack. Once
you are at the Coords. You will find it with ease. This Cache is
along the Brule Valley of Highland. A forest fire in 1936 consumed
many acres in the south part of Highland and burned the Volker
School as well. You may see many old burned stumps still left from
the fire. It is a nice meandering walk along a nicely maintained
walking only trail.
The North Country National Scenic Trail is a premier footpath that
stretches for about 4,600 miles linking communities, forests, and
prairies across seven northern states. Already, more than 1,800
miles have been certified off-road. Additional miles follow shared
paths, and some road walks yet remain. When completed it will be
the longest off-road hiking trail in the United States. South
Trailhead: Gaylord Nelson Portal off Wisconsin Highway 27, about 8
miles south of Brule. Walk west along the marked spur to the trail.
Alternate Access: Rush Lake Road, about 6 miles south of Brule.
Off-road parking for one or two cars near the NCT sign on the south
side of the road. Please hide the same way you found it...or
better. Thank you. First to find prize of Signal the Frog antenna
ball attached to outside of cache. The Geocache Notification Form
has been submitted to the Wisconsin DNR.
