Geocache Description:


West Bend, Wisconsin, the "Geocaching Capital of the Midwest"™, is celebrating geocaching by offering a weekend full of geocaching activities, including Wisconsin's first MEGA event (see event cache GC1KZHZ). We're starting off the celebration with a FAMILY FRIENDLY Meet and Greet on Friday evening, August 14th.

Friday Event Details:

In the Courtroom/On the Courthouse Square:
  • Meet fellow cachers
  • Bring your Geocoins, Pathtags, and Travel Bugs to swap, trade and discover.
  • Receive coupon sheet for discounts at area restaurants
  • Beer, soda, and water will be available for purchase
  • Get coordinates for the Night Caches and the fun and historic "Walk Down Main Street" multi-cache. All downloads will take place in the Attorney's Room (2nd floor).
  • CACHE AND PARKING COORDINATES FOR SATURDAY'S CACHE BA$H EVENT WILL BE RELEASED TONIGHT! View the cache map and plan your route strategy with other cachers. Downloads can be done at home or bring your GPS receiver and we'll do it for you (most GPSr models are compatible). Please note: You will still need to register Saturday morning and get your stamp booklet at Regner Park prior to finding the caches IF you want to qualify for the prizes.
  • Bring extra lawn chairs! We might gather outside on the courthouse square if the weather is nice!

Additional activities:
  • Have fun walking to various locations of interest in West Bend's Historic Downtown by completing the "Walk Down Main Street" Multi-Cache!
  • "The Case of the Stolen Cache" Courthouse Mystery - solve clues around the courthouse to crack the case and find the missing cache.
  • FREE ADMISSION to the Old Courthouse Museum and Old Jailhouse Museum (Friday, Aug 14 ONLY, 6-11pm)
  • FREE ADMISSION to the Museum of Wisconsin Art! ( Friday, Aug 14 ONLY, 6-9:30pm)
  • After dark, search for a couple night caches in the Kettle Moraine area!
