What: An
introductory event on basic geocaching skills
Who: People
of all ages and abilities who want to learn about
geocaching
Where: In
Roche-A-Cri State Park (on Highway 13 just north of Friendship and
just south of Highway 21) near the office, soon after you enter the
park. Watch for signs.
When:
Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. for about an
hour
This is an opportunity to Get Outdoors with the whole family to
learn a new skill or to improve on one you may be just starting to
learn. People who are camping in the park or who are from the area
(or not) are welcome to come see what geocaching is all about.
Bring along a GPS receiver if you have one. If you already have a
geocaching account and were thinking about finding any or all of
the 14 geocaches in Roche-A-Cri State Park, this would be a great
time to visit. Stop by before or after those searches to pick up
some pointers, to share your skills with others, or to just say
"hi".
Because this
event is held in a state park, a parks admission fee is required
(hourly, daily, or yearly sticker). There is no cost for the
event.
This event is put on in conjunction with park personnel and
nature programs, including the "Get Outdoors" program, which aims
to get young people and families into the outdoors.
