Come join fellow geocachers for a paddling adventure! If you ever wanted to try kayaking/canoeing or just wanted to paddle through the Cypress trees in a "Carolina Bay" come join us for the afternoon at N.R. Goodale State Park in Camden. Come lend your support as this will be Lisa70000 first adventure in a kayak.
We will meet at "the launch" behind the ranger station at 12 noon. Once everyone has introduced themselves we will have an orientation session to go over some basic paddling techniques, rules & safety. Then the novices will have chance to get to comfortable in a boat. Once everyone is ready, we will set out and paddle the 2 mile trail through the swamp. In addition to meeting fellow cachers and honing aquatic cache-hunting skills, we will enjoy the natural beauty of the area and possibly find "Lost in the Swamp...again" (One of the best places in SC to find a cache)
For the land lovers there are nearby picnic tables and some great trails around the lake and yes, there are some caches, too!
We will have a TB swap and our coin collectors are encouraged to bring their collections to show off and trade.
The park does have four kayak's and 4 canoes for rent (first come, first served)for $7 1/2 day. They do provide PFD's and paddles.
