Der Cache ist im Wehrheimer Waldgebiet „Die Mark“ versteckt. Er ist sowohl zu Fuß als auch mit einem Mountainbike gut zu erreichen. Für Kinderwagen wird es etwas holprig.
The cache is hidden in the forest of „Die Mark“ in the Wehrheim woods. It can easily be reached on foot or using a MTB. Strollers will find it a bit difficult to reach this area.
Dieser Cache führt Euch nicht nur in eine idyllische Waldlandschaft. Das Areal hat auch eine industriegeschichtliche Bedeutung für die Gemeinde Wehrheim:
Bereits vor dem zweiten Weltkrieg betrieb die jüdische Familie Schopflocher an dieser Stelle ein Werk zur Produktion von Metallstäuben, die wiederum zur Herstellung u. a. von Farben verwendet wurden. Während des Krieges wurde die Familie enteignet und das Werk durch die Fa. Eckart übernommen. Die Produktion konzentrierte sich auf die Zulieferung der Rüstungsindustrie.
Zur Herstellung von Aluminiumstäuben wurden so genannte Pulvertürme verwendet, in denen der Aluminiumstaub auf eine einheitliche Körnung gefiltert wurde. Da bei der Zerkleinerung von Aluminium ein explosives Staub-Gas-Gemisch entsteht, läuft eine solche Produktion unter ständiger Explosionsgefahr ab. So wurde das Werk auch 1940 durch eine Staubexplosion zum Teil zerstört.
Der Cache ist nach den Pulvertürmen benannt, die bis zum Jahr 2002 in diesem Areal bestaunt werden konnten. Im Rahmen der Einrichtung des Neubaugebietes „In der Mark“ wurden diese abgerissen, obwohl man vorübergehend eine Erhaltung der architektonisch interessanten Bauwerke geprüft hatte.

Even before WW II the Jewish family Schopflocher set up a plant for melting metals such as aluminium and to produce metallic powders for lacquers and paintings. During the war the factory was confiscated and a company named Eckart Werke continued the operations. These were now concentrated on supplying the German arms industry.
In the production of aluminium powders so called Pulvertürme (powder towers) are being used to sieve the powders to even granularity. The process of crushing the aluminium generates an explosive mixture of gas and dust. Therefore it is associated to a high risk of explosion. It was for that reason that the factory was partly destroyed by an explosion in 1940.
This cache is named after those powder towers (Pulvertürme). Seven of them were still in place until the municipality of Wehrheim developed the area for residential building in 2002.
