Fort Custer Maze Traveler Waystation Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Team Gamsci: I enjoyed having this cache out there but with the maze now gone and full of maize, I didn't want to encourage cachers onto potentially private land.

Fort Custer Maze - Clear Lake, IA

Designed by the father and son team of Jack and Scott Kennedy, and with consultation from the "World's Leading Maze Consultant" Adrienne Fisher, covers two acres and has over two miles of trails. Featuring four towers, three bridges, and a center look-out tower, this 1850's Western style maze will keep you and your family entertained for hours, especially if you get lost.

The store and mini museum, displaying animal mounts and Civil War and Indian artifacts, is where you start your journey. Your time is measure as you are logged in and out of the maze as you get all 8 stamps scattered around the maze, trying to beat the fastest time or your previous best. Don't think you can come back later in the summer and know your way around as the maze design is changed weekly.

The Fort Custer Maze is open:

Saturday & Sunday:
10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Monday thru Friday:
9:30 AM to 7:30 PM

It is also open any other time by appointment (for 10 or more) by calling: 641-357-6102
